The Public Interest Law Clearing House (PILCH) is an independent not for profit legal referral service. It seeks to meet the legal needs of community groups, not for profit organisations and individuals from disadvantaged or marginalised backgrounds. PILCH acts as a facilitator for the community to access pro bono legal assistance from the private legal profession. The National Pro Bono Resource Centre is an independent, non profit organisation that aims to encourage pro bono legal services, support lawyers and law firms to make it easier for them to provide high quality pro bono legal services, and work with the profession and the community sector to match services with the clients and groups most in need of assistance. The Law Institute of Victoria is the professional association for Victorian solicitors. The Institute represents its members interests and works to improve the law so that it better serves a changing society. It aims to increase public understanding and respect for the law and legal process, while encouraging full participation in the profession by all members. |
